Hire Writers is a writing service that offers products and services only to web-based businesses in need of copywriting services. Students will find little-to-nothing of value for their needs, unless they are enrolled in a content marketing or copywriting course. Still, we have conducted this review on HireWriters for anyone who might be in need of copywriting products or services. And we have looked at the same factors that we do for all reviews – HireWriters.com testimonials, both on and off-site, the quality of the website layout and content, pricing, special features, and the results of an order that we placed with the company. Here is our summary Hire Writers review.

Services Offered

Hire Writers really acts like a writers’ clearinghouse that lets customers and writers “meet up.” A customer can place an “order” for a specific copywriting need and have that order placed on the company job board. Registered writers may then choose “jobs” from that board and complete those orders. The writing services include:

• Articles for forums and blogs
• Re-writing and editing of articles and web content that customers have submitted.
• Ghost writing for website content
• Product reviews and descriptions
• Automated email responses
• Website/company reviews to be placed on review sites

Quality of Products and Writing

Because there are no sample writings or a blog, we could not use these factors to evaluate quality. Some registered writers did include samples in their profiles. Still, the customer has little control over the writer who will ultimately complete an order. The order is on that job board until a writer claims it.

The control a customer does have is in selecting the level of writer – beginner, average, skilled and expert. Once a customer selects a category and makes payments, only writers in the chosen level may “claim” the order. The higher the category of writing selected, the higher the cost and the higher the quality of writing.

Customer reviews that we have found on the web are not, as a whole, positive. There are a number of complaints regarding quality of writing – specifically, that the writers are ESL and that even revision requests did not improve the language and grammatical errors.

We ordered a basic 500-word blog post, provided the topic and selected a writer level of “average.” We received the post on time; however, there were some pretty glaring structural and language errors – the same errors that other customers pointed out. Still, we did receive the order and it did relate to the topic.

So, is HireWriters.com a scam? No, it is not. The issue is the quality of writing and the lack of quality control that the company has when it allows writers to register. While the company claims to have ENL writers, this is clearly not the case.

Pricing and Discounts

HireWriters prices are based upon the level of writer the customer selects. There is no first-time or loyal customer HireWriters discount nor any HireWriters promo code for such. As well, customers will not find HireWriters.com coupon codes for special pricing. This is a job board model.

Extra Features

In short, there are none. We do feel a need to mention that the only way to contact the customer support department is via email, so if there are issues, customers can expect delays in response. In our case, when we sent an email with a complaint and request for revisions, we were told to contact our writer through the messaging system. It looks like the customer support department really exists for writers, not customers.

Final Recommendations

We have several concerns about this service. From the site content, it is easy for anyone to register as a writer, and there is no procedure in place to verify a writer’s credentials. Every writer starts at the “beginner” level and moves up as s/he completes more orders. The other concern is the claim by the company that all of its writers are native English-speaking professionals. This is not the case.

Is HireWriters legit? Yes. Customers do get a product for the payment they make. However, we advise that customers proceed with caution. There is no real control over the writer they may get. And given the complaints about quality, this is a big issue. Overall, we do not recommend this company. Our Hire Writers rating is “Fair to Poor.”
