• We looked at pricing, payment, and any additional benefits
• We contacted the customer support department by phone and asked specific questions
• We looked for customer feedback on the web

All of these have resulted in the summary that you will now read here. Hopefully, it will give you enough information to decide whether this is a trusted and reliable source for your academic writing needs.

Services Offered

It is obvious from the landing page forward that this writing service focuses solely on academic writing, at all grade levels, of any variety and type. While it speaks to essays and papers, students are obviously able to order a range of products and services, according to the customer comments we have received and/or found.

There are links on the landing page to “writing services” and “editing services.” Unfortunately, they seem to be broken. We did access those pages by typing in what we thought would be the right URL and did get to them. However, there are no products or services listed on either of these pages, on the statement, “We are the leading academic writing platform where hundreds of top-rated academic writers come to work.” This should be fixed right away.

It is important to talk about the business model of EssayWriting. It is not like traditional services that take orders and assign qualified writers. This company acts as a type of job board. It has registered writers (it claims to have 90,000). When students place an order for a writing product, it is placed on that job board, and writers can then bid on the project. The customer is then responsible for “interviewing” those bidders and selecting the one that they believe can best meet their needs. 
Once a writer is selected, the customer and writer speak directly until the product is finished and accepted by the customer. Payment is then released to the writer, and everyone moves on.

One important note here: Students are urged to read through the company policies – the links are at the bottom of the landing page. These relate to revisions, refunds, privacy, etc. and do provide important information about customer rights and responsibilities, guarantees of originality, and the legal obligations of the writers to meet deadlines and to destroy their copies of any products so that a piece of writing will never appear anywhere else on the web.

Quality of Products and Writing

To determine quality, we like to view products that customers have actually received. In this instance, we relied upon the comments and feedback that customers have provided about the quality of what they have received and the sample writings that Essaywriter.org has published on its site. In summarizing all of this, we can say the following:

• Customers state that they placed their orders, went through the process of writer selection and were able to communicate with their writers during the process. They also stated that they received their orders on time.
• In terms of quality, the feedback was mixed. Most were satisfied with the writing pieces they received. Some were not. It seems that satisfaction with quality is a factor of the writer that was selected. This means that the customer must carefully interview potential writers and select one that will really produce what he wants.
• We read through a few of the sample essays and papers that are posted on the site. One, a basic classification essay on safe and unsafe drivers, focuses on the behaviors of unsafe drivers. It does not address behaviors of safe drivers. At the end is a chart that shows the differences, but that chart is not a part of the essay. A research paper on Graves disease is quite technical with lots of medical terminology. It required five resources which were listed at the end, but they were not cited within the text of the paper, and they should have been. Further, there were a few errors that were typical of ESL writers. The word “within,” for example, was separated into two words, “with in.” This is not proper English. Overall, the samples showed adequate composition, with some grammatical and word usage errors. 

Pricing and Discounts

There is no pricing chart for Essay Writer costs. Each price is determined by the individual bidder and any negotiations that take place between the customer and writer before the final cost is agreed upon. Students who are skilled negotiators may be able to get a better price. Once the cost is agreed upon, that is what it is. There are no company-wide discounts or promo codes for periodic special pricing. It appears that the average price for a basic high school essay is about $10 a page.

As the company states, pricing is based upon the type of product a student orders, the academic level of study, the amount of research involved, and, of course, the length and the deadline urgency. Students should compare bid prices carefully and not necessarily take the cheapest bid. The more seasoned and expert writers always charge more.

Here is what we can say. Essaywriter.org is a legal business that provides customers with a choice of writers for their writing needs. It does have a phone number to contact customer service if there are questions and issues, and that phone is answered 24/7 – we tested it. Quality seems to be dependent upon the writer that is selected, so students are cautioned to develop a set of questions to ask potential candidates before making a final selection. Overall, on a scale of 0-5, we have given Essay Writer a score of 3+. It needs to fix broken links and provide detailed listings of the writing and editing services it offers.
